Mansion Aerdt is located in the nature reserve “De Geldersepoort”. It is where the Dutch river delta of the “Oude Waal” and “Oude Rijn” begins. Due to the role of hydraulic engineer, Godefridus baron Van Hugenpoth tot Aerdt, in the diking of the area at the end of the 18th century, Mansion Aerdt has a key position in the 'taming' of the river delta. The influential noble family Van Hugenpoth also owned a lot of land with leased farms and they had the ‘right of wind’, which means ownership of the mill rights. So there is a rich history of strategic thinking here. Symbolically, the ideal starting point for strategic sessions, discussions and negotiations.
